Volunteers Needed! Join a team of medical, nursing, and dental professionals in providing care to the Tibetan people living in the Tsum Valley of Nepal in fall of 2014.

The Tsum Valley is home to 3000 Tibetan Buddhists who have received very little medical care due to the remoteness of their location.  Modernity has not yet made inroads into the daily lives of the people here because the region has only recently been opened to the West for trekking.

The two villages where we will provide professional care lie at 5,000 and 10,000 feet elevation in the Himalayan border with Tibet. Volunteers will experience the spectacular beauty of the region which lies in full view of Manaslu, “mountain of the soul” in Sanskrit, one of the world’s fourteen 8000 meter peaks, and immersion in the Tibetan Buddhist culture. The Tsumbas, as they call themselves, are described by Westerners as gracious and grateful, a reflection of  their Buddhist way of living.
