The results are in! Ballots were counted on February 25 for the 2022 Providence Registered Nurses officer election. Congratulations to our 3 re-elected officers and welcome to our 2 new officers!
Terra Colegrove, president since 2013, is passionate about educating and empowering nurses. "Each member's contribution becomes the collective benefit." A stronger union, she remarked, "is a means of caring for ourselves and our community."
Brittany Mackey articulated a similar sentiment: "I want to help my fellow nurses be the most effective, engaged, empowered RNs they can be. To help our nurses deal with issues and handle grievances in a professional, fair, ethical manner."
Jessy Hilliard was first elected during the pandemic, stating that "becoming a grievance officer and member of our contract negotiation team has been an amazing eye-opening learning experience. I hope to continue to support our team as a grievance officer for years to come."
Melina Mack shared what inspired her to run for union office: "The pandemic has highlighted for me now more than ever how important it is for nurses to be involved in their union and the role they play in supporting one another."
For Esther Wee, nurse and patient safety is a top priority. "I believe in fairness and am passionate about standing up for what is right. I'm looking forward to being part of something that will represent nurses."
Thank you all for stepping up to help lead our union!
