We’re seeking an exceptional nurse to join our team of dedicated staff as a part-time Continuing Education Nurse Planner. As a Nurse Planner, you’ll work in our Anchorage office and join our Continuing Education program staff to plan, implement, and evaluate our continuing nursing education offerings as part of our mission to advance the profession of nursing and improve healthcare for all Alaskans.

The Alaska Nurses Association is a non-profit member-led professional association and labor union working to advance the profession of nursing and improve healthcare for all Alaskans. We’re committed to our core values of integrity, advocacy, professionalism, representation and empowerment. We empower nurses through our collective bargaining program, promote professional development and education, and advocate for better healthcare and workers’ rights.

Position responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate continuing nursing education offerings
  • Participate in data collection and program evaluation related to the development of educational programs
  • Maintain knowledge of adult learning principles and continuing education approved provider program criteria
  • Assist in maintaining AaNA’s course library
  • Work to identify learning needs and education deficits for Alaska’s nurses
  • Participate in meetings of AaNA’s Continuing Education program
  • Develop relationships with external organizations and agencies to produce educational partnerships for the benefit of Alaska’s nurses

Required qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Adaptability to varied work structures
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently on various tasks
  • High degree of professionalism
  • Must be registered nurse, licensed in the state of Alaska
  • Must possess a baccalaureate degree or higher in nursing
  • Must maintain current membership with AaNA

Position details:

  • Part-time position; 10+ hours per month
