People age 80 and older who underwent a hip or knee replacement procedure had an increased risk of suffering a heart attack shortly after than those who didn't get the surgery, according to a Dutch study in the Archives of Internal Medicine. However, researchers found that those younger than 60 didn't have a higher cardiovascular risk following the surgery. Yahoo!/Reuters (7/23)
